After taking this unit the student should be able to:
successfully perform scientific computing tasks involving a range of numerical methods following written guidelines, applying them to real-world data and problems drawn from a range of topics in physics;
demonstrate understanding of numerical methods and the issues applicable to their use;
work in a team to plan, design, conduct and record an investigation of a physical phenomenon using theory, simulation and experimentation;
communicate a detailed and complete scientific project both orally and in writing in a concise, logical, well-argued and evidence-based manner.
|
Synopsis: | Conduct Physics experiments in pairs, developing skills in experimentation, science, and presentation. You'll work together on high-level electronic experiments and strengthen your scientific computing skills in Python through numerical methods and computational investigations. Collaborating in teams, you'll investigate physical phenomena using theory, simulation, and experimentation.
