Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course you will be able to:
  • Demonstrate first-hand experience of handling complex real-world data sets
  • Use data science techniques to analyse large complex data in R
  • Be able to formulate proper mathematical arguments and perform appropriate statistical inference on real world data science problems
  • Present results from a data science analysis in a suitable style



Synopsis: You will complete a project with a large data set, including the planning and design of studies, through practical analysis to the reporting of results.

Content: Data exploration Data mining and data analytics Data transformations Analysis of large, structured complex datasets Model selection, verification of assumptions and assessment of performance in a real-world application Presentation of results in an appropriate format
