Learning Outcomes: |
By the end of this unit, participants should be able to:
1. Identify and analyse a market opportunity.
2. Design a product, by using the right tools effectively, to take advantage of that opportunity.
3. Develop a strategy to take the product to market, considering basic issues of operations, finances, intellectual property, and economic, legal, social, ethical and professional issues.
4. Develop a business plan.
5. Develop and apply planning, management, teamwork and communication skills.

Synopsis: | You will learn essential entrepreneurial skills for achieving real-world impact with an idea. You will work in a team to gain practical experience in developing a commercial, social or environmental venture.

Content: | Examples of the topics taught in this unit include:
Finding and developing an idea, market analysis, funding, operations, marketing, risk management, legal & ethical issues, writing a business plan, managing projects, effective teamwork and communication.
