QA9 Professional Development and Recognition for Staff and Students who Teach and Support Learning

This Quality Assurance (QA) Code of Practice statement details the opportunities, expectations and requirements for all staff and teaching assistants.


Regulations


The University supports and develops all who support the student learning experience. If you are involved in teaching or assessment, you must undertake appropriate development.

Graduate Teaching Assistants

Training

Students undertaking teaching, including laboratory demonstration, must be trained. Doctoral students should read the , and all other students should contact their Department.

All staff and students involved in teaching, including Graduate Teaching Assistants, must complete mandatory training for staff, for example safeguarding and fire safety training.

Approval of Graduate Teaching Assistants

Staff must secure approval for a student to teach or support learning before they commence any duties. Follow QA9, and contact your Faculty/School Assistant Registrar with queries.
