Learning Outcomes: |
This unit will introduce you to different mental health disorders of childhood and adolescence and discuss a range of clinical interventions that have been used to treat these disorders.

Synopsis: | Gain introductory knowledge of some of the most common mental health disorders of childhood and adolescence. You'll explore a range of clinical interventions used to treat these mental health disorders.

Content: | By the end of this unit you should be able to:
- Critically evaluate a number of models of developmental psychopathology
- Critically examine concepts of abnormality and diagnostic systems frequently used to classify mental health disorders in childhood and adolescence
- Assess and evaluate a number of clinical interventions used in the treatment of developmental psychopathologies in childhood and adolescence
- Discuss the causes and treatment of a variety of developmental psychopathologies in childhood and adolescence including childhood anxiety and externalising disorders such as ADHD
- Compare and contrast psychological, social, and biological perspectives on developmental psychopathology in childhood and adolescence
