Learning Outcomes: |
By the end of the unit you will be able to:
Develop planning skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, experience group work and response to leadership, learn how to make appropriate decisions. Apply psychological knowledge acquired in the first two years of the programme in practice. Undertake an independent research study under supervision, which will form the basis of your dissertation work in the final year. |
Synopsis: | During your placement, You will experience working in a professional psychology context. The placements range from working in hospitals, clinics and businesses to universities. Most of our placements are based in the UK, but some are in other parts of the world, such as the USA or Australia. Whichever placement you choose, you will experience what it is like to work as a professional psychologist. |
Content: | You will spend your placement attached to an approved supervisor in a professional psychology context, which could include working in a hospital, a clinic, a prison, a university or a business. Most of our placements are based in the UK, but we do have some that are in other parts of the world, such as the USA or Australia. The actual content of the placement will vary from placement to placement, but whichever placement you choose you will experience what it is like to work as a professional psychologist. |
