Synopsis: | "Explore the emergence and development of LGBTQ+ politics in a global context.
You will examine social movement action seeking to advance legal change, and the counter movements that act in opposition.
You will also explore the political and institutional contexts within which advances occur (and dont), as well as the role that legal mobilisation plays in advancing LGBTQ+ rights."

Content: | This unit will explore:
LGBTQ+ social movements - analysing their demands and strategies
We will draw on case studies to examine movements and counter movements in different contexts, from regions such as Latin America & Europe
How LGBTQ+ issues are advanced within political institutional and judicial realms domestically and internationally
