Content: The module explores how societies remember'' the past, therefore addressing the relationship between history and memory. Drawing on a variety of case studies, the unit examines the social, cultural, and political manifestations of the past and how it mirrors current society. The module's contemporary focus provides the flexibility to incorporate topics as they emerge (e.g. the memory of colonialism), making it a highly relevant module.
