Learning Outcomes: By the end of the unit, students will be able to:
  • Demonstrate a critical appreciation of contemporary or emerging issues in marketing, applying both academic and practitioner perspectives in the context of current and predicted conditions facing organisations.
  • Identify a research area or question as the subject of their Semester 2 individual project, demonstrating its relation to issues covered in the unit, and discuss methods relevant to pursuing that research.



Synopsis: Engage with the ideas and practices of expert academics and practitioners, who will deliver tailored masterclasses. You'll learn to develop your own views and positions about a variety of marketing topics and issues. The masterclasses format lets you develop your knowledge, skills and your critical capabilities, as an independent learner. This will help prepare you for your Semester 2 individual project.

Content: Topics representing matters of substantial contemporary or emerging importance in marketing at the time of the running of the unit. These may derive from developments in the academic literature or in practice, including large-scale socio-economic changes.
