In taking this module you cannot take MA30085 |
Learning Outcomes: |
By the end of the module you will be able to:
|
Synopsis: | You will learn about models for data with complex structures such as time series, spatial data, and linear models with random effects. You will develop skills in data analysis through case studies involving these types of data. |
Content: | Probability models for time series
Estimating the autocorrelation function and fitting ARIMA models.
Forecasting: Exponential smoothing, forecasting from ARIMA models.
Conditional independence properties of the multivariate normal distribution
Graphical representations of multivariate data
Multivariate models with special structure such as Gaussian random fields and spatial models.
Gaussian random fields; Markov random fields
Analysis of spatial data and other structured data sets
Application of the above methods to a variety of real-life statistical problems. |
