Content: Review of static theory of labour supply and labour demand under various market conditions (perfect competition, monopoly in the output market, monopsony in the labour market.) Extensions of the models to include distortions and constraints (e.g. taxation, costs of labour market participation). Empirical implications of the models and review of relevant evidence. Extensions to basic models to various contexts, e.g. allocation of labour over time, discrimination in the labour market, human capital accumulation.
