On completion of the module, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Confidence in applying relevant microeconomic or macroeconomic techniques to key issues in development;
- An understanding (where appropriate) of how to use empirical analysis (econometric and experimental methods) in assessing development policies;
- An ability to contribute to policy debates in the context of development;
- An ability to critically read specialist research articles in development economics.

Synopsis: | "Study and apply various tools of economic analysis to understand key problems and issues faced by developing countries.
You will examine the various constraints - structural, behavioural and historical - faced by impoverished households, and the various interventions (both at a macro and micro level) that can help communities. You will also study the design and evaluation of these policies.
