On successful completion of this unit you will be able to:
- Formulate and plan an advanced engineering project to meet the requirements of its initial aims, considering risks, ethical concerns and environmental impact. (C7,C8,C9,C15) [CW]
- Execute a high-quality investigation or design project within a specific topic area, evaluating prior work, demonstrating creativity and initiative, to reach substantiated solutions whilst discussing their limitations. (C1,C2,C4,C12,C13) [CW]

Synopsis: | Carry out an investigation or design project on a specific topic. This will give you experience of working in a research environment or on an industry-based design project. You'll also learn how to plan an advanced project and communicate complex issues and findings.

Content: | Students will attempt to solve a complex engineering problem which has no obvious solution and may involve wide-ranging or conflicting technical issues and/or user needs that can be addressed through creativity and the resourceful application of engineering science.
