Synopsis: | Propose reforms and changes to education, based on your understanding of educational policy and practice.
You'll hear from speakers that will introduce key challenges facing education internationally in the 21st Century.
Working as part of a group, you'll analyse future scenarios and case studies of educational and societal reform and change.
This will help you develop practical solutions to educational challenges alongside developing analytical, project management and communication skills. |
Content: | You will explore the socio-economic, political and technological factors shaping the nature of education. You will consider educational futures and scenarios in relation to the specific challenges facing education, which may include: sustainability; climate change; decolonisation; access to and participation in education; post-truth society; Global Educational Reform Movement; neo-liberalism and (neo-classical) economics imperialism; changing nature of work; nationalism; exclusion, deprivation and marginalisation. Case studies of international educational change and reform will be explored alongside theories of policy implementation, realisation and evaluation. You will also learn about the development of policy and reform proposals.
